Our Audience

The genre we have chosen to work with is 'Romantic Comedy/ Rom-Com'.

What is a Rom Com?
- Romantic comedy films, are movies with light-hearted, humorous plotlines, centred on romantic ideals such as true love able to surmount most obstacles. Most (99.9%) ROM Com's have happy endings and are fairly predictable.

Audience...

Our film is being based at a fairly young audience. It would be best suited to 15-23year old's as it is about drinking, relationships and sex. Throughout adolescence most teenagers either have or know somebody who has had a one night stand and therefore would be able to relate to our short film.

Most short films are made by students and therefore if we wanted to produce our film and get it out into the industry we would send it off to the many different film festivals where anybody interested in films can attend. If it were successful it would then most likely be shown on late night. There are also some specific channels just for short films E.G Sky-Shorts, this Chanel only shows short films.
Sometimes the producer finds it difficult to find an audience and this is when they would put it on Facebook, YouTube..etc. They can then see who's viewing it and what type of audience it has attracted.
